Iran tourism on the rise

An increasing number of foreign travelers have started making inquiries and booking hotel rooms with tour operators.
Many are from countries which had ceased to choose Iran as their destination in recent years, Destinationiran reported.
Some new countries have joined the list of those interested in Iran tourism. All have decided to visit Iran for its historical sites as well as hospitable people.
Many of the historical monuments are world heritage sites or are awaiting registration.
Many people are happy to see that international tourists have chosen to make a journey across their country.

Tourism growth in Spring 2014

“As a national tour guide who travels to cities and visits interesting places, I can tell you from my first-hand experience that it looks like the doors have just opened,” said Rahman Mehrabi.
He added that all the hotels were fully packed with foreign travelers in Tehran, Shiraz, Yazd and Isfahan.
“Museums were so largely occupied by fans of cultural heritage that I would recommend to my groups not to waste time in queues for museums’ lockers and leave their stuff in the buses instead,” he said, adding that it’s a reality that many have started choosing Iran as their travel destination.
Anyway, there are several signs that indicate Iran tourism is on the rise these days and tourism is improving in the country. Some of these signs are:

Hotels are running out of vacancy

This is a fact although not very much satisfying to the tour operators or travelers.
Hotel rooms are getting totally booked so much ahead of time that we have faced difficulty here at Destination Iran and had to recommend the inquirers to postpone their trips or change their traveling dates.
“I seem to need a lot more hotels to be built in Iran, particularly in major cities like Tehran, Shiraz, Yazd and Isfahan with higher emphasis on the last city mentioned here. Other cities in Iran will soon face such a challenge,” Mehrabi said.

Iran’s foreign policy eases international tension

More active involvement at the negotiation tables here and there have led to the feeling of greater security among travelers.
Many who had been led to think that Iran was not sufficiently a safe destination to travel to, now have a different opinion because they see the Iranian government intent to eliminate any ambiguities in the engaging with the rest of the world.

A word of advice for foreign travelers to Iran

Please make up your mind and start booking with a tour operator before it’s too late.
We’re not in a position to receive millions of tourists in Iran yet, but the number applying for tours to Iran exceed accommodations available in our major cities.
Therefore, your trip may get delayed if you ask for a tour late.
Mid-March till mid-May and mid-September till mid-November are the peak time in our Spring and Fall seasons.
To find a hotel room in October 2014 is already a highly challenging task.
Iranians would love to see more foreign tourists coming to their country to learn about our nation soon. So, Iran invites foreign tourists to make up their minds and visit the magnificent scenes in the country soon.
